Vroeger dacht ik altijd dat het wel over zou gaan — mijn voorliefde voor de wat harde muziek bedoel ik — Maar pushing forty heb ik mijn Metallica, Rammstein en Tool CD’s nog steeds niet aan de dijk gezet. Sterker nog, al dagen luister ik ongeveer constant naar Linkin Park’s Minutes to Midnight.

Okay, het is geen ruggegraat-vermorzelende of trommelvlies-scheurende metal. Maar voor een net-niet-bejaarde is het crossover hiphop/metal geluid van Linkin Park toch redelijk luid.

Bijkomend extragratis voordeel als je zelf de wat schreeuwerige muzieksmaken op je iPod hebt staan … de vlekken schieten niet meteen in je nek als je kroost op televisie doorzapt naar MTV of TMF waar net Bleed it out voorbij komt. Integendeel, je blèrt gewoon lekker een stukje mee:
